I am SO disappointed in the GoDaddy Wild West Hosting service. My SITE AND EMAILS HAVE BEEN DOWN for FIVE DAYS due to a GLITCH IN THEIR SYSTEM, and NONE OF THE FIVE support people I talked to provided the correct information or remedy - even telling me to put input bad data NUMEROUS TIMES!! EVEN AFTER I CORRECTLY TOLD THEM THE PROBLEM!!
I LOST SEO PLACEMENT, TRAFFIC, and REVENUE as a result, and their entities made no gesture or attempt at easing that pain. A traffic blazer or something to help get us back on track would have AT LEAST been appropriate.
To recap: THE PROBLEM WAS THE FAULT OF THEIR SYSTEM, created at the outset by bad info from their representatives, and perpetuated by a complete lack of understanding of their system and additional erroneous info by the technical personnel I personally spoke with.
5 DAYS! And now they say they are going to "escalate my service ticket," but it could "take up to 72 hours for resolution!" What am I paying for? I will go elsewhere, set-up a new account, and let it propagate for a day - and SAVE MYSELF 2 DAYS!

Not waist of money since it's cheap but you have to pay way more then just starting to get what others offer. I do not recommend them to anyone so Be Aware!

Only reason they get a 2 instead of 1 is that they are cheap. But you get what you pay for - their shared hosting is atrociously slow and you get no control at all. Support is frustrating and pretty clueless. Avoid at all costs.

Tried to make a payment for a domain and hosting and they canceled it straight away and sent the money back???? something to do with me being a fraudsters???

I have been with GoDaddy for over 6 years and i'm looking for a new host. On the other hand, I have generally found GODADDY hosting to be OK. Since I'm not an online business, I don't know what service they provide for complicated setups or business sites, but my impression is
1.) you get a response fairly quickly (1-2 days) on a performance or setup issue, but the way they have run the support desk, you don't end up with a dedicated support staffer. You may spend several emails describing your problem, but the next person who responds to your issue always says something like, look at FAQ #4", even though you\'ve gone through the whole thing with someone else previously. That can be VERY frustrating.
2.) The GO Daddy website is not very 'current customer' friendly! When you go to the site and try to find information, or edit your site, you always seem to end up somewhere being SOLD some new feature, rather than accessing the site control panel, or whatever. Admittedly this has gotten better no that they have instituted "Metropolis" but it's still crazy to find what you want. Advertisements everywhere!!!
They really should have two sites.
Database is a little hard to admin, too.
I do think they may be trying to get their act more together, though.

When we check, our GoDaddy server hosts over 9000 domains! The response is atrocious. Failure to connect all the time. Complaints are constantly ignored. After we get shifted to a new server, they overload that server very quickly and the bad response cycle continues.
STAY AWAY FROM GODADDY.COM!

GoDaddy may have the best domain name registration but not the best hosting company. Support takes longer...even though they provide phone support but it's not a toll free phone support. They don't have Cpanel, harder to access the database, especially for the beginner. One good thing that I find is that they have free hosting (with their ads on top of your website, if you don't mind).

It's hard to do business with GoDaddy. Site navigation is a pain; you can't do anything without being forced to page through many pages of ads and offers unrelated to the job you're trying to get done. Their whois lookup is a royal pain, too.
